Kubernetes Platform Engineer I, Cloud Computing Technologies Agile Development Labor Rate creates tools and builds systems that allow software development teams to build the right product/service as quickly as possible. Bridges the gap between software and hardware to enable application developers to deliver software into the hands of users in an efficient manner. This may involve standardizing an organization’s kubernetes deployments, ensuring auditable infrastructure, automating processes supporting various deployment, and writing documentation for application developers. Modifies infrastructure and coding tools to the needs of application developers of an organization and builds efficient tooling and infrastructure that maximizes engineering productivity. May have 2-5 years of experience in this field, with at least one year of satisfactory full-time experience as a professional in an IT, technical or engineering environment in one or a combination of the following: computer science, computer engineering, public safety services, public health services, public administration, software engineering, financial services, or any other relevant areas related to information technology & services, computer software, and financial services. Partners with other departments within an organization to offer support to developers troubleshooting efforts of applications in product/service development environments. Possesses strong technical background of technologies and proficient in knowledge of processes such as Agile Software Delivery, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, Cloud Native Technologies like Docker Containers and Kubernetes, and Deployment Automation & Orchestration. Demonstrates special ability to develop Jenkins CI/CD pipelines-as-code for running and maintaining non-production environments in order to ensure stability and up-time. Have excellent scripting skills, including shell scripting, Python, and/or Perl, for automation and a hands-on experience on working on Kubernetes platform, deploying Apache Spark or web applications. Have solid experience in virtualization like VirtualBox, Hyper-V, Docker, VMware, etc. as well as in-depth experience in automating systems deployments and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, and Saltstack. Have experience building CI/CD pipelines using Github, Artifactory and other hosting services to reduce cycle times and ensure quality. Works under the guidance of the Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer.
