Kubernetes Platform Engineer II, Cloud Computing Technologies Agile Development Labor Rate is responsible for building tools and systems that enable product/service developers to build, deploy, and operate the right features in a safe and efficient way. Ensures to provide a reliable, yet easy to navigate, platform in order to assist product/service development teams release new software to their users efficiently and safely. This may involve a great deal of Operations Discipline tasks related to designing major incident management processes, alerting, and monitoring solutions. Designs and develops platforms for use by end developers to deliver product/service using Kubernetes. Partners with functional IT network services to predict test/production infrastructure needs of various stakeholders. May have 6-10 years of experience in this field, with at least one year of satisfactory full-time experience as a professional in an IT, technical or engineering environment in one or a combination of the following: computer science, computer engineering, public safety services, public health services, public administration, software engineering, financial services, or any other relevant areas related to information technology & services, computer software, and financial services. Have in-depth knowledge and understanding of container orchestration using Kubernetes On-Prem or Cloud. May be experienced in setting up and managing Docker registries and creation of Docker files to create custom images. Possesses the ability to develop Jenkins CI/CD pipelines-as-code for running and maintaining non-production environments in order to ensure stability and up-time. Proficient in relevant computer scripting/programming languages such as Python, Shell, and Perl; and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, and/or Saltstack. Collaborates with management, internal and outsourced development units to communicate regarding project status and issue resolution. Plays a key role in all phases of the product/service development cycle, ranging from definition, to design, through implementation and test in order to come up with reliable, cost effective and best quality solutions for products and/or services. Works closely with clients and the Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer to resolve issues with products, critically analyze problems, and deliver identified solutions.
